PUMA GREAT NORTH CITYGAMES 2014
SATURDAY 6 SEPTEMBER, 14:30 - 16:00 NEWCASTLEGATESHEAD QUAYSIDE

The PUMA Great North CityGames has become an established highlight in an action packed sporting weekend for the region.

Staged the day before the Bupa Great North Run, the event is once again set to bring world-class competition to one of the UKs most iconic locations - the NewcastleGateshead Quayside.

Stars of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games will be putting on a show as they round off their summer season, competing against some of the most recognisable names in athletics from across the globe.

Taking place on a unique, purpose-built athletics arena in the heart of the city, the exciting format lets spectators get up close to the action, and best of all – it’s completely free to spectate.

Last year crowds of over 25,000 watched performances from some of the most recognisable names in international sport – including Australia’s 100m hurdles Olympic Champion Sally Pearson, reigning world 1500m champion, Asbel Kiprop (Kenya), and Great Britain’s very own sprint star Jonnie Peacock.

No need for tickets, come down and enjoy international athletics in the North East – completely free of charge!

Televised live on BBC One and BBC One HD.
