Spectators

The NewcastleGateshead quayside forms the spectacular setting for the Great CityGames, offering a host of clearly marked excellent vantage points to witness the action. All the events will be staged on the Gateshead side of the river, which also plays host to the popular Bupa Great North Run sport and fitness show.

Sizable crowds are anticipated to watch the events, which will be televised live on BBC ONE between 1pm and 2.30pm on Saturday 19th September.

During the day the Bupa Junior and mini Runs will also be staged, with up to 5,000 children from the ages of 3 to 16 taking part. For more details about these events go to the Great Run site.
